Following on from my last Australia Travel Diaries which you can read here if you haven’t already.
So we landed in Brisbane early in the morning, we headed to the Sunshine Coast which is where we were staying and where our family lives. We spent the day just chilling really trying to settle in a bit and getting used yet another time zone.
We were staying at Headland Tropicana in Alexandra Headland. We were pretty much right in the middle between Alex and Mooloolaba which was handy as we visited both all the time. It was roughly a 5 minute walk each way.
The weather wasn’t brilliant the first few days, we had quite a lot of rain but even when it rains it was still so warm and it didn’t last long so once it stopped we headed to the beach. The first few days were beach days really, we wanted a few days of relaxing as all we did in Sydney was walk everywhere so we were all pretty exhausted.
We spent a lot of time at the beach at Alex. I still can’t get over just how beautiful it was there and how at home I felt even though I couldn’t of been any further away.
We spent some time by the pool at our apartment too as there was more shade when we were getting a little too hot at the beach. Such a relaxing place to be.
My cousin took us out for a night out to experience how they do it in Aus, and it was sooo much fun! Probably the best night out I’ve been on to be honest haha. A couple of my cousin’s friends joined us and we were all just making fun of each others accents and the way we say certain words. We had a lot of laughs that night.
The next day we went to Cotton Tree to spend our Sunday in the sun and on the beach. My Auntie and cousin have paddle boards so we all had a go at stand up paddle boarding. It was so much fun and relaxing in a way, although I definitely used muscles that I don’t normally and was a little bit sore after haha.
I also had the biggest and most tastiest pulled pork roll at Cotton Tree, oh my god is was AMAZING! We came back to Cotton Tree the next night for fish and chips whilst watching the sunset and it was incredible.
After having our fish and chips, me, my sister and my friend Jaz went back to Mooloolaba to meet up with the others but they were still having their dinner when we got there so we went and sat by the beach. There was a man playing his guitar and it was just so amazing and relaxing and it just felt so surreal that we were actually there, in Australia and were just sat on the beach listening to live music. It was bliss!
I’m going to leave it here for my Australia Travel Diaries: Brisbane Part 1 other wise we’ll be here forever! I hope you’re enjoying following along with my journey in Australia, keep an eye for Brisbane Part 2 very soon.
