This winter I have found a really good skincare routine that works nicely for my oily skin. It’s nice and simple as when I add too many steps my skin tends to breakout a lot more than normal.
To start off my winter skincare routine I use the Garnier Micellar Oil-Infused Cleansing Water to remove my eye makeup and the majority of my face makeup. I have quite sensitive eyes when it comes to cleansers and I have found that the Garnier Micellar Waters are the only products that don’t irritate my eyes so I like to use this first before using a cleanser to cleanse my skin.
My absolute favourite cleanser is the Origins Original Skin Cleansing Makeup Removing Jelly. I massage a small amount of this all over my face to remove any remaining makeup. I like this cleanser because it doesn’t feel oily when applying it, I really struggle to get on with oil based cleansers and although I know they are good for my oily skin I just can’t seem get on with them. I then massage some water onto my skin which then turns the jelly into an oil, I really like this as this way my skin is getting the benefits from an oil without feeling like an oil. Applying water onto the jelly also acts as a double cleanse which leaves my skin feeling so clean.
I just use a warm damp face cloth to remove the cleanser, this way I feel like my skin is really clean and nothing is left on my skin.
Next I use a toner on my skin, I’ve been loving the Pixi Glow Tonic. It leaves my skin feeling refreshed and looks a lot brighter after using it too. To apply it I either will pour a small amount into my hands and press into the skin or I will pour a small amount onto a cotton pad and swipe across my face. It just depends on how I feel at the time.
A new product for me recently is the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo. I will apply this after my toner morning and night, I apply it all over my face but focusing more on my problem areas. I have really noticed a difference in my skin over the last couple of weeks since using this, my skin is a lot clearer and is starting to look a bit more even.
I use the Botanics All Bright Refreshing Eye Roll On cream to hydrate under my eyes. I tend to get a lot of creasing under my eyes if I don’t use an eye cream and this one has a really nice cooling roller ball as its applicator and it feel so nice and refreshing in the mornings. My makeup sits really well on top of this and has definitely helped brighten up under my eyes a bit since using it.
And lastly the moisturiser I’ve been using and loving this winter is the Clinique Moisture Surge moisturiser. Towards the end of last year I started to notice my previous moisturiser was giving my skin a lot of texture and my skin was lacking moisture so I decided to try out the famous Moisture Surge, and it has worked a treat. It gives my skin the hydration it needs (especially in this cold weather) and leaves my skin feeling so soft and moisturised.
