Last week me and my friend Becci went for a quick trip to Edinburgh. We’ve both always wanted to go, so back in February we just decided to book it and go.

I completely fell in love with Edinburgh, the cobbled streets, the architecture of all the pretty buildings, just all of it. We stayed in an Airbnb in Leith and it was just a 15minute bus ride into Edinburgh city centre. For us it was a perfect location, not too close to the centre but close enough.

On our first full day we had a of bit slow start, we had a bit of a lay in and then got up to get ready and then headed into the city centre.

We went for a hot drink and cake at Patisserie Valerie as it was so windy outside, we needed to warm up a bit. The strawberry cake was delicious, I don’t think I’ve ever had a cake so nice!

We did a bit of shopping on Princess Street, and then we had a wander through the Princess Street Gardens. The gardens were full of daffodils, and it was so beautiful.

Once we’d had a wander through the gardens, we headed up to the Castle and oh my god it was steep! We had to stop many times to catch our breath and took that opportunity to take some pictures of the amazing view.

We made it to the top of the hill to the Castle and it was so ridiculously windy! It took us a good 10minutes to try and get some nice pictures haha. We were so lucky with the weather though, despite the wind, it was such a beautiful day!

We decided while we were there that we would go into the Castle and have a look around. The Castle was so much bigger than I was expecting, it was like a whole village inside. We went into the museum all about the war and it was quite emotional, reading how all the men had earned their medals.

After our first full day of exploring Edinburgh we decided to have a bit of pamper night, we used the Quest Personal Care Skin Academy cucumber gel eye patches to try and help get rid of our tired dark circles under our eyes from traveling the day before and then we used some sheet masks too.

The next day we had a bit of a wander around the area where we were staying and then found a cute little coffee shop to have breakfast.

After breakfast we headed back into the city centre and decided to have a bit of a picnic in the Princess Street Gardens. We were so mesmerised by all the pretty daffodils and the view of the city from the gardens that we just wanted to sit there and soak it all in.

Once we’d had our picnic and had some time to take it all in, we headed back up to the castle to try and take some more pictures and then headed to the Royal Mile and had a wander down there.

We then found the famous street that curves round, Cockburn Street and obviously we had to stop to take some photos.

We then had a bit of a wander down George Street before heading back to the apartment to have an early night before travelling home the next day.

I will 100% be going to back to Edinburgh, I completely fell in love with it there and there’s still so much more I want to see and do there.

I hope you enjoyed looking at some of my pictures from my trip. Thank you for reading x
